Infinite Geste is a body of work painted in encaustic, an ancient and intensive painting process that involves layering beeswax, pigment, and resin, then fusing the layers with a propane torch or other heat source. The organic nature of the materials engenders a highly unpredictable and fast-moving process, with surprisingly gestural results. The luminosity and illusory depth found in encaustic paintings are unsurpassed and the finished works more archival than any in any other painting medium.
